Through MONAT, I have discovered a level of confidence and self-worth that had been missing for a long time! It has helped my family start to add back hopes and dreams that we had put on the back burner because of financial strain. This “shampoo business” has changed my life!

Life can really get in the way of living sometimes. At least that’s how it was for me. I was so caught in the pressures of life that I wasn’t spending much time “living” it.
I felt like we were constantly overshadowed by health issues, debt, and bills. There I was, trying to manage a family of six while working and still feeling like I couldn’t do anything to better our current situation. Honestly, I felt hopeless. I felt like a failure! I was constantly trying to think of something, anything, I could do to just help us get back on track. I prayed for a solution, for a change to happen!
That’s when I found MONAT. Or, I guess really MONAT found me! This “shampoo business” has literally changed our lives. I have not only been able to contribute to paying off our debt but I have even helped to improve our financial future! We have even started to plan and think about where we go from here. Before MONAT we were stuck in today’s problems, but now we dare to dream bigger!

MONAT has gone so far beyond just putting more money in the bank. I have discovered a power in myself that I let die long ago. I now know that I can be a powerful, passionate, confident, fun, and successful woman. I know that I have worth! I know that the plan for my life is so much more than making payments on time or just surviving the day! Life is about living! Living to the fullest! Finding yourself in the things that make you happy!
The things that bring you joy!

So yes, MONAT is a shampoo company, but to me it is so much more! MONAT is a hope builder, a confidence finder, a family. Stop letting life get in the way of living. Start living life on your own terms. Get out of your own way and take a chance. Dare to dream bigger! And, with MONAT, do it all with some kick-butt hair!

A Positive Time for Change

Ahhh spring...! After a long, cold winter, who couldn’t use a little warmth and sunshine? With the rising temperatures come blooming flowers and lush green plants. Mother Nature transforms as she brings the dormant plant life, well, back to LIFE!

For many of us, this feeling is quite familiar. It’s no coincidence that the word “spring” is also a verb: “to rise, to come into being” and “to jump rapidly upward or forward.” A fresh opportunity to start anew, spring is the beginning of a universal life cycle that inspires —and sometimes pushes—us to change from the inside out.

This is the time to fully enter “the new me” phase, leaving behind the sloth associated with the winter slack and the holiday binging; the time to get active again and prep our bodies for summer... and our own inner selves to take on the world! We look back at the lessons learned, we commit to doing more, being better, and dreaming bigger.

One thing’s for sure: whether you choose to feed your intellect or feed your soul in the pursuit of your goals, you need your body in order to take action! As they say, our body is a temple. We must care for it, cleanse it, and nourish it properly. (Good thing MONAT can help in this area ;).)

What actions will you take to transform this year?

International Women’s Day

International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.
Last week we went around the office and asked the men “what does International Women’s Day mean to you?” A few of their responses below.

"If women didn't exist, all the money in the world would have no meaning. Therefore, International Women’s Day should be the #1 International Holiday in the world."

"Women’s day. Isn’t that a made up holiday to get back at men for forgetting Valentine’s Day? #joke. Honestly women are the best. The world is better because of women. Mothers, sisters, grandmas are the best people on the planet. The world is better with the amazing women in our lives. I owe everything to the awesome women in my life, without them my life would be miserable. #realanswer"

"It’s the celebration of a movement; it’s the recognition of women. Personally, it is a day to offer my respect and gratitude to all the special women that have touched my life; But honestly I think there’s no need for an International Women’s Day, we have come a long way since the first International Women’s Day, but still things are the same, domestic violence and equality are still an issue; International Women’s Day should be celebrated every day."

"International Women’s Day means a great deal to me because strong women have surrounded and shaped me all my life. From my Swiss grandmother who came to America in 1948, to my mom who raised four kids as a single mom, and to my own wife, who has endured the ups and downs of life with me for nearly 22 years, I’m a better person because of the strong nurturing of women. And as the father of four distinctly different daughters, I hope I can continue to raise strong women too!"

How will you mark International Women’s Day? Celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women – but don’t forget we still have a long way to go.

Feed Your Hair

Eating healthy not only contributes to weight loss, it also does wonders for your hair. A diet rich in nutrients will help you stay healthy, ageless, and all-around fabulous. So why not give yourself a beauty boost with enhancing nourishments? Below, we’ve outlined some positive nutrition practices to keep in mind for a healthier mane.

Load up on Leafy Greens

Leafy greens are filled with nutrients and a whole lot of water, which helps keep your hair hydrated. Without proper body hydration, your hair will begin to look dry, which can contribute to breakage. Leafy greens also condition and create healthy scalp oils, and they contain antioxidants that fight free radicals from pollution, helping to strengthen and thicken hair. Seriously, who knew?

For the greatest nutritional benefits, leafy greens, like broccoli, kale and spinach, should be consumed raw or lightly steamed.

Include Healthy, Protein Rich Foods

Hair is made of protein, so ensuring you have enough protein in your diet is crucial for making it strong and healthy. If you are not consuming enough protein in your diet, your hair is likely to become dry, brittle and weak. Extremely low protein diets may also result in hair loss, and nobody wants that! Add a few servings of protein to your daily diet for stronger, healthier hair.

Examples of protein include chicken, turkey, fish, dairy products and eggs, along with vegetarian sources such as legumes and nuts.

Eat More Healthy Fats

Omega-3 fatty acids nourish follicles for stronger, shinier hair. Eat fatty fish like wild-caught salmon and albacore tuna. Incorporating avocados into your meals will also help fortify hair for stronger strands. So go ahead – order that extra serving of guacamole. Your hair will thank you.

Supplement Support System, S3 by MONAT

How about stepping things up a notch with a powerful, healthy hair supplement? Take your hair growth to the next level with S3 by MONAT! Each of the clinically proven ingredients found in S3 work together to replenish the body of possible nutrient deficiencies that could be contributing to hair loss. The best part? S3 is gluten-free, GMO-free with absolutely no animal byproducts.

Resolve to make these few nutritional changes to your diet, and see just how long and healthy your hair will grow. Always remember: you are what you eat. So don’t sabotage yourself! Drink plenty of water and feed your body and mind the healthy way.

We Have Seen, and Know

My grandfather was the primary male influence in my life growing up. Many facets of my character can be directly traced back to him and his benevolent influence.Grandpa was born in Zürich, Switzerland, in 1918. Growing up in the Alps and serving in the Swiss army, he was an avid hiker and loved hiking to many idyllic alpine meadows. Even after immigrating to America, he frequently hiked the Rocky Mountains of Utah and Wyoming.

One of his long-time hiking friends spoke at his funeral in 2009. One aspect of his remarks struck me so much that I captured the reference on my smartphone and found the quote at my first opportunity. It’s from Rene Daumal, a French poet:

You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.

We had a fantastic convention in January, and our Spring Forward! Regional Events are coming up in April. I love the energy and interaction of meetings like these, and even less formal gatherings. They provide needed recharging and serve as powerful catalysts for Market Partners and the corporate team alike. They help us see!

Yes, events end, and we “have to come down again.” Thankfully, “the memory of what one saw higher up” stays with us, and because we know MONAT is the right place at the right time, we move ahead with determination. Anyone who has attended one of our events will agree that after “seeing”—after catching the vision of what MONAT is all about—they conduct themselves differently. That’s the real power of events. Tap that power in your business—help your Market Partners understand the importance of events.

We’re looking forward to seeing you and your Market Partners at our amazing events this April!

Show Me How To Do That

Some years ago, my now 12-year-old daughter asked me to show her how to tie shoes. So we sat on the stairs and I demonstrated the looping process a few times. It wasn’t long before she got the hang of it.

Afterwards, as one who does a lot of writing, I thought how much harder it would be to tell a child how to do that instead of showing it:

Take one end of the lace in your right hand and the other end in your left. Cross one around the other and pull tight. Now, with the end in your right hand, make a loop close to the shoe; the end of the lace should be at the bottom of the loop. Pinch it together with your fingers. Then, take the other end around the loop. Wait, is the shoe on your foot?
Showing someone how to do something is so much easier than telling! As a Market Partner, it’s much more effective for you to show a new Market Partner how to do something than just telling. Don’t forget, even before a Market Partner joins your team, you are demonstrating best practices in how you sample, host meetings, follow up, invite, and more.

True, the new Market Partner probably doesn’t realize you are “modeling” the right behaviors (and you might not either!). But once they’ve joined your team, they will pay you a big compliment by asking for your help. When they ask, “how do I host a MONAT meeting,” or “how do I share samples,” you have a ready response: “Remember how I did it? It’s easy—I’ll show you.”

In that sense, you are always “on stage”—you are always showing someone how it’s done. This shouldn’t worry you. It’s not about perfection; it’s about doing the best you can. On an even higher level, showing (and sharing) your passion for MONAT is the most fundamental aspect of attracting others to you. When you demonstrate a genuine love for our products and opportunity, you’re showing what is good and great about MONAT. Show it!

5 Habits of People who follow their Dreams

So you want to travel the world or be your own boss? Keep reading…

[wc_spacing size=”10px”]

There are a few common habits of highly successful people who have turned their dreams into reality. People who have a vision or goal don’t always get there from having financial means, but actually a few common habits that have helped them get to where they are. The best part is that you, too, have the opportunity to do the same!

As the famous quote by Wayne Dyer goes, “Change the way you look at things and things you look at will change.” Life is all about perspective, and if there’s one thing that all successful people have in common, it’s their perception on life’s challenges.

So what makes highly successful people different than everybody else? Here are five, surefire ways they manifest their own positive outcomes.

[wc_divider style=”dashed” line=”single” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=””]

They see challenges as opportunities.

A current crisis offers the chance to re-evaluate how you live your life, to be more mindful and strategic, and to take stock of your values and priorities.

How you respond to crises has a lot to do with the lens through which you regularly perceive the world.

If you tend to see the world through a “gloom and doom” lens, you may be reacting to current events with feelings of fear, anxiety, or a sense of despair.

The solution? Change the lens from which you view the world! Below is an example on how to do this.

Challenge: Sales are down and business is slow. Opportunity: Use this slow time to get your office organized, update your marketing materials, and reconnect with past customers you’ve had no time to call.

It’s important to recognize that there are some challenges that are simply beyond your control, so turn your attention to those challenges with opportunities you can act upon.

[wc_row][wc_column size=”one-third” position=”first”]

[wc_spacing size=”20px”]

[/wc_column][wc_column size=”two-third” position=”last”]

They aren’t afraid to identify their weaknesses.

Everyone has a talent—leverage yours. Self-evaluation is the key to staying confident during rejection and failure. You can’t be great at everything, but you can build a team to compensate for your imperfections.

[wc_row][wc_column size=”one-third” position=”first”]

[wc_spacing size=”20px”]

[/wc_column][wc_column size=”two-third” position=”last”]

They aren’t just dreamers: they’re doers.

Highly successful people know what they want, and they find a way to get it.

Doers are so committed to making their dreams a reality that they banish any possibility of a backup plan.

They don’t think things like, “If it doesn’t work, I’ll just go get a job.” Apply this mantra to your professional life and see the odds go in your favor.

[wc_row][wc_column size=”one-third” position=”first”]

[wc_spacing size=”20px”]

[/wc_column][wc_column size=”two-third” position=”last”]

They have teachers, mentors and role models.

Successful people recognize what it takes to be excellent, even if they haven’t made it yet.
They know that most hurdles have already been solved, and having a mentor helps.

Successful people know they have blind spots, and they are humble enough to ask someone to look for the flaws in their thinking.

By seeking advice from ‘mentors’ you’re opening up the door for thoughtful, unbiased advice to help point you in the right direction.

[wc_row][wc_column size=”one-third” position=”first”]

[wc_spacing size=”20px”]

[/wc_column][wc_column size=”two-third” position=”last”]

They’ve learned to be comfortable being uncomfortable.

To grow, these like-minded individuals embrace the discomfort. It feels awkward. It’s uncomfortable. You’re out of your comfort zone.

But if you stay in your comfort zone, that’s not where your growth is.

Your growth is where discomfort is. You grow your greatest by exploring and expanding your capabilities. You have to leave the nest to spread your wings.

To unleash your potential, and expand what you’re capable of, you have to embrace change and discomfort is a part of the path.

There’s no precise formula for success, but if you take a hold of these simple ways of life, you’re headed on the right track.
